This article describes the various forms of Islamic philosophy because some scholars claim that philosophical thought in Islam has declined after Ghazâlî's criticism. library research uses qualitative method and historical approach, focuses on examining distinctive characteristics each school by emphasizing its epistemological aspects. shows world is very dynamic not a single character. In period, reveals variety patterns. To facilitate discussion, this elaborated series times examines patterns epistemology developed epoch. Although ontologically they are similar, there epistemic differences Muslim philosophers: Peripateticism, which dominated during classical period (850-1250); 'Irfânâyah two schools wisdom (al-h}ikmah al-ishraqîyah/illumination theosophy al-h}ikmah al-muta'âlîyah/transcendent theosophy), medieval (1250-1850); al-h}ikmat al-ladunîyah/perennialist al-'aqalîyah contemporary (1850-present). diversity emerged as response to different challenges adaptations local situations.
